One person, Siobhan Logan, attended a workshop and then wrote about the experience on her blog:

I look forward to reading Siobhan’s finished poem, and the other poems written by workshop participants, once they are displayed alongside the artwork in the exhibition.

“Identity” – NHS Open Art Show 2009 is open for submissions

February 23, 2009

Following the fantastic success of “Future Bright” in 2008 (the first NHS Open Art Show in Leicestershire), the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) is proud to announce it’s brand new show for 2009: submissions are invited for “Identity”.

Identity will be making an expanded tour of Leicester and Leicestershire. It will be hosted at four prestigious venues: The City Gallery (Leicester), Victoria Hall (Oakham), The Ten 2 Gallery (Hinckley) and Charnwood Museum (Loughborough).

The show theme of “Identity” was picked from a long list of ideas from members of the public. Ideas came from artists and non-artists alike, including some from mental health service users. The chosen title was submitted by Scott Bridgwood, an exhibitor at “Future Bright”, by commenting on this website.

Lydia Towsey (Creative Arts Coordinator, job share, LPT) said:

“Identity and creativity have a direct relationship. We’re really looking forward to seeing how people across Leicester and Leicestershire express themselves and interpret the theme.”

Ideas for the theme for the next NHS Open Art Show

November 19, 2008

—- UPDATE: Congratulations to Scott Bridgwood – his idea was chosen as the theme for the NHS Open Art Show 2009 —-

After the success of “Future Bright”, the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Open Art Exhibition of 2008, the 2009 exhibition is being planned.

Any ideas for a theme?

Post your thoughts in the comments under this article. (NB This doesn’t mean these ideas will necessarily get considered – it’s just for fun at this stage!)

So what are your ideas?
